By Pankaj Upadhyay: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was granted bail in the Patra Chawl land ‘scam’ case on Wednesday. As Raut walked out of Mumbai’s Arthur Road Prison as a free man, he made a call to Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
Talking to India Today, Sanjay Raut said that it was an emotional call between the two leaders. “When Uddhav Thackeray heard my voice he had tears in his eyes. I also had tears in my eyes,” said Raut.
He added that his loyalty lies with Uddhav Thackeray. “I am a follower of Balasahib Thackeray and I will never leave the party. What you see today on the streets today is Balasahib’s magic. I am a Shiv Sainik and will remain so till the very end,” said Raut.

Sanjay Raut was behind bars for more than 90 days. “My faith in the judiciary has increased now. I was put behind bars under false charges and I have been saying this from the very beginning. It was a traumatic experience for my family members,” said the Sena MP.
His family members had gathered in court for the verdict on his bail application. “We didn’t celebrate Diwali this year but today we have reason to celebrate both Holi and Diwali. All those who felt that sending him to jail would weaken his resolve should know he will now become stronger than ever before,” said Sanjay’s brother Sunil Raut.
Sunil Raut received his brother at the gate of the Arthur Road Prison as party workers burst crackers to celebrate the Sena MP’s release.
While heading home, Sanjay Raut said that not only was his mother waiting at home but the entire state was waiting and that the political fight will start again.
