Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has reportedly sustained a torn MCL that will require surgery, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Pitts will seek a second opinion before proceeding, Rapoport added.

Falcons coach Arthur Smith told reporters Monday he only expects Pitts to be sidelined “in the short term” though and said it was too early to know if the No. 4 overall pick in last year’s draft will end up on the injured reserve.
“(General manager) Terry (Fontenot) and I will talk through the next 48 hours, and until we get confirmation from the full set of medical opinions and until everybody’s on the same page, then we’ll decide if we need to make a move or not,” Smith said.
The 22-year-old Pitts caught three passes for 43 yards before leaving Sunday’s game against the Bears. Atlanta edged Chicago to win 27-24.
Pitts has 28 receptions for 356 yards and two touchdowns during his sophomore season with the club.
The Falcons (5-6) are second in the NFC South Division and visit the Washington Commanders during Week 12 this upcoming Sunday.
