Sandin left the game late in the second period with an undisclosed problem as T.J. Brodie paired up with Timothy Liljegren on what was supposed to be Sandin’s next shift.
The Maple Leafs’ injuries across their blue line have been a primary cause for concern this season. Jake Muzzin (neck) and Morgan Rielly (knee) have been out for extended periods of time while Victor Mete (lower body) was recently placed on the injured reserve
Sandin has two goals and 12 assists so far this season, adding one more point to his tally against the Lightning before being taken out of the game. He has appeared in every game for the Leafs this season.
