Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard will not play Monday night in Detroit against the Pistons because of right knee injury management.
Leonard’s status for his return to Toronto to face the Raptors on Tuesday remains uncertain.
Leonard has played just 13 of the Clippers’ 34 games this season. He is averaging 16.3 points and 5.9 rebounds.
Leonard did play in the Clippers’ last three games before Christmas.
New Orleans Pelicans
It looks like Zion Williamson‘s return to the Pelicans could be delayed.
After missing two games last week while in health and safety protocols, the Pelicans star is listed as doubtful for Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers because of return to play reconditioning.
Williamson is averaging 25.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting 60.3% from the field this season after missing all of last season because of a foot injury.
Meanwhile, Larry Nance Jr. is listed as questionable with right Achilles soreness. He has missed the past two games.
Miami Heat
Heat centre/forward Bam Adebayo will miss Monday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves because of a non-COVID illness.
Adebayo is averaging 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 53.2 per cent from the field this season.
