Stanley, 24, hasn’t played since Dec. 9 when he suffered a lower-body injury. He will get his first chance to return to action Thursday when the Jets host the Buffalo Sabres.
Two separate stints on the IR have seen Stanley appear in just seven games for the Jets this season, picking up one assist.
The 2016 first-round pick played in 58 games in the 2021-22 season for Winnipeg, where he scored one goal and dished out 12 assists.
Heinola, 21, heads down to the Moose after he had one assist in 10 games for the Jets.
Winnipeg currently sits one point behind the Dallas Stars for first place in the Central Division.
