After making a routine pad save in the second period, Talbot went to the bench to talk with the Senators’ training staff. Coming out of the game, Talbot was visibly limping as he made his way to the team’s locker room. He was replaced by backup Anton Forsberg.

Talbot, 35, has played in 27 games this season, recording a 11-13-1 record in 24 starts along with a 2.95 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. The Senators acquired the netminder from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Filip Gustavsson during the offseason.
