The Orlando Police Department is investigating an incident involving Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal and a fan in Orlando, Fla., according to reports in the Washington Post and on ESPN.com.
The alleged incident occurred after a March 21 game as Beal was walking to the locker room and a fan reportedly yelled, “You made me lose $1,300, you (expletive),” the report states.
Reportedly, there was a verbal exchange between Beal and the fan, and Beal walked toward a second man, who made another comment. Beal allegedly swatted his right hand at the second man, knocking the man’s hat off and contacting the left side of his head.
A complaint filed to police reportedly states that “probable cause exists to charge Beal with simple battery” and that charges will be filed with the state attorney’s office.
No charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning, ESPN.com reported.
“We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering more information,” an NBA spokesman told ESPN.com in a statement.
