Ayton suffered the rib injury in the first quarter of Game 5 after a collision with Nuggets wing Bruce Brown. The big man remained in the game, playing 31 minutes in the Suns’ blowout loss.

The Suns will now be without Ayton and starting point guard Chris Paul, who has already been ruled out with a groin injury.

Ayton has averaged 13.4 points and 9.7 rebounds in the playoffs as a whole and 10.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in their series against the Nuggets.

Down 3-2 in the series, the Suns will look to stave off elimination Thursday in Game 6 which can be seen on Sportsnet ONE and SN NOW at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
