Panthers’ Maurice offers no clarity on Tkachuk’s status for Game 5

Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice provided no update on star forward Matthew Tkachuk‘s status for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Maurice told reporters he knows whether Tkachuk will play, but wasn’t going to share the information.

Tkachuk wasn’t at Monday’s optional practice.

Tkachuk is clearly nursing some sort of arm injury since being checked hard by Golden Knights forward Keegan Kolesar in Game 3. He sat out multiple shifts in the third period of Game 4 and did not throw a single bodycheck in the loss.

Meanwhile, offensive defenceman Brandon Montour said he’s good to go for Game 5. He also missed optional practice on Monday.

The Panthers trail the series 3-1 and need a win to keep their season alive.

Watch Game 5 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Sportsnet or Sportsnet NOW.
