The forward has a qualifying offer of $9 million, but an arbitrator could lower that amount for the 2023-24 season.
The deadline to file for arbitration is Thursday at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT
Garrioch reported DeBrincat does not want to sign an extension with the Senators.
The Michigan native had 27 goals and 39 assists for 66 points in 82 games in 2022-23, his first year with the Senators.
Those numbers were down from the previous season, when DeBrincat had 41 goals and 37 assists for 78 points with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Senators acquired DeBrincat last summer from the Blackhawks for first, second- and third-round picks.
