Juventus, one of the most storied clubs in Serie A, have expressed an interest in a move involving Canadian striker Jonathan David, Italian journalist Nicola Balice of Calciomercato reports.
The Italian club is looking to potentially part ways with Dusan Vlahovic after an underwhelming season where he scored just 10 goals in league play. Vlahovic has reportedly drawn interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
Juventus have a few targets in mind to replace Vlahovic, including David. Balice reports that Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund also remains a target for Juventus but the team is intrigued with David’s performance in Ligue 1 where he had 26 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Lille.
According to TransferMarkt, David’s transfer value has reached 60 million euros. Lille paid 30 million euros to get the Canadian from Belgium’s KAA Gent.
Juventus will have competition for David’s services this summer with Manchester United and Chelsea also showing interest, according to SkySports.
Juventus has already made a deal with Lille this summer, agreeing to an exchange for American winger Timothy Weah.
The biggest move made by Juventus this summer, though, remains the addition of former Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli. He helped Napoli pull off big transfers with Premier League clubs and found valued additions including Victor Osimhen. Napoli brought Osimhen in from Lille and helped them win their first Serie A title in 33 years.
