The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed left-wing Nils Hoglander to a two-year, $2.2 million contract, the team announced Sunday.
Hoglander, who was a restricted free agent, recorded three goals and six assists in 25 games with the Canucks last season. He also had 32 points (14 goals and 18 assists) in 45 games with the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League.

“Nils learned a lot this past season, especially playing meaningful playoff games in Abbotsford,” Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said in a media release. “It’s not easy to start the year in the NHL and then be sent down to the American League, but we were impressed with the way he took that challenge head on.
“He worked hard on his game and give credit to Jeremy Colliton, his staff, and our development team as well for helping Nils improve on things during the year. This experience should really help Nils compete for a spot on our team at training camp this fall.”
Hoglander was drafted in the second round, 40th overall, by Vancouver in 2019.
The 22-year-old from Bocktrask, Sweden, has registered 54 points (26 goals and 28 assists) in 141 over the past three seasons with the Canucks.
