Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu enjoyed a promising rehab start with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons against the visiting Toledo Mud Hens on Saturday.
The left-hander allowed one run on three hits in five innings, throwing 66 pitches (46 for strikes) and departing with the Bisons leading 6-1.
Ryu struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.
Justyn-Henry Malloy, the second batter of the game, hit a solo home run off Ryu to open he scoring before the veteran big-leaguer shut down the Detroit Tigers’ affiliate for the rest of his outing.

He holds a 75-45 record with a 3.44 ERA in 175 career appearances (174 starts) over nine seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Blue Jays.
