The Toronto Blue Jays have reinstated Brandon Belt from the 10-day injured list and will have him active for Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Miami Marlins.
Belt has been sidelined since June 10 with left hamstring inflammation, which he suffered while trying to score from second base. As the 35-year-old arrived at home plate, he reached back and grabbed his left leg.
At the time, Belt was one of Toronto’s better hitters in recent weeks. He is slashing .263/.378/.434 with four homers and 16 RBI this season.
To make room for Belt, Spencer Horwitz has been optioned to triple-A Buffalo.
The Blue Jays take on the Marlins in the third game of the series, with first pitch scheduled for 12:10 p.m. ET / 9:10 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN NOW.
