The Chicago Bulls are reportedly nearing a three-year, $60 million contract extension with centre Nikola Vucevic, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The two-time All-Star played all 82 games for the Bulls last season and averaged 17.6 points and 11 rebounds per game.
The Bulls narrowly made it into the Eastern Conference’s play-in tournament as the 10th seed before they defeated the Toronto Raptors in the opening round of the tournament. They would then lose to the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Miami Heat in the battle for the East’s final playoff spot.
Sportsnet’s Michael Grange believes that Vucevic’s new deal could be a benchmark that former Raptors centre Jakob Poeltl will look for in his next deal. The Raptors are reportedly very interested in re-signing Poeltl, and Grange recently reported that a four-year, $80 million deal could keep him with the Raptors.
