The terms of the deal are still undisclosed.
The right-hander carried a 4.33 ERA with 91 strikeouts in 22 starts with the San Diego Padres in the 2022 season.
From 2017-2020 Clevinger was a stable-if-not-strong pitcher with Cleveland and San Diego, putting up a 2.96 ERA in 82 starts for the two teams. He spent the 2021 season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
He joins a talented White Sox rotation featuring Cy Young candidate Dylan Cease, as well as Lance Lynn, Lucas Giolito and Michael Kopech.
