Sam Ersson will get the start in net for the Philadelphia Flyers in Monday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, head coach John Tortorella said.
Ersson will play despite the Flyers’ regular starter, Carter Hart, being cleared to play after passing concussion protocol.

Hart has been out since Dec. 23, when he was involved in a head-to-head hit with the Carolina Hurricanes’ Seth Jarvis. He took part in the team’s morning skate, but will not dress for the Flyers, as Felix Sandström will serve as the backup. The 24-year-old Hart has played in 27 games this season, posting a 2.89 GAA and .911 save percentage.
Ersson has served in the Philadelphia net since Hart’s injury, going 2-0-0 with a 3.58 GAA and .885 save percentage.
The Flyers have a 13-17-7 record and currently hold the 14th spot in the Eastern Conference.
