Canada’s Cyle Larin, the all-time leading scorer for the men’s national team, has a new home.
On Tuesday, La Liga’s Real Valladolid announced the signing of the 27-year-old striker from Brampton, Ont.

The deal is a six-month loan, with the option for the Spanish club to buy Larin permanently after the period is up.
Real Valladolid has just five wins in 18 league matches and is currently mired in La Liga’s relegation zone. And the club needs scoring, having tallied just 13 times in those 18 games.
Larin joined Club Brugge this past off-season, but was struggling to get on the field for the Belgian club. He had just 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal.
The striker was a major part of Canada’s run to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with 58 caps for the Red and White.
On Jan. 30, 2022, Larin became Canada’s all-time leading scorer on the men’s side with his 25th goal against the United States in a World Cup Qualifier. He passed Dwayne De Rosario, who now sits second on the list.
