Tanev was already ruled out for the final two games before the All-Star break as he was placed on injured reserve to make room for forward Brett Ritchie to be activated.
Tanev left Monday night’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first period with the injury. The 32-year-old has one goal and seven assists in 40 games for Calgary this season.
Ritchie has been sidelined with a wrist injury since Dec. 31. In 30 games this season, the 29-year-old has six goals and eight points.
