Raptors coach Nick Nurse, whose team faces the San Antonio Spurs at home on Wednesday, told reporters on Tuesday that Anunoby worked out and is progressing well but has not been cleared for contact.
Anunoby suffered the injury on Jan. 27 after taking a hard fall on a dunk attempt in San Francisco against the Golden State Warriors. He then missed the final five games of the team’s road trip.
Anunoby’s name has been in many trade rumours with the Raptors playing below expectations this season.
Anunoby, who has a year left on his contract, is averaging 16.9 points and 5.5 rebounds this season. He also is considered a very good defender.
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT.
