The Detroit Red Wings have recalled scoring-winger Jakub Vrana from AHL Grand Rapids and placed sophomore star Lucas Raymond on injured reserve.
Vrana appeared in the first two games of the season with the Red Wings before entering the NHL and NHLPA’s Player Assistance Program on Oct. 19. He returned to hockey in mid-December on an AHL conditioning stint and then was placed on waivers on Jan. 3. He’s remained with the Griffins ever since, scoring six goals and 11 points in 17 AHL games.
Raymond was injured in a collision in practice on Friday and missed both games the Red Wings played against the Canucks on Saturday and Monday. The 20-year-old has 15 goals and 33 points in 50 games this season.
