There has been no official announcement from the team, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reported that the team confirmed Tuch’s status, and that they will have more information on Sunday.
Tuch suffered the injury in Friday’s 3-1 victory over the Florida Panthers, sitting out the final seven-and-a-half minutes of the third period with the undisclosed injury.
The 26-year-old winger has been stellar for the Sabres this season, scoring 28 goals and dishing out 34 assists, both career highs in just 57 games. He picked up his 28th of the year in Friday’s win prior to the injury.
Tuch was acquired by the Sabres in the Jack Eichel deal and has found a productive home playing next to Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner.
The Sabres have climbed their way right into the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, as heading into Saturday night they held onto the final wild-card spot with a record of 30-23-4.
