Garoppolo will reunite with Josh McDaniels who was the offensive coordinator in New England from 2014 to 2017. He replaces Derek Carr, who agreed to join the New Orleans Saints.
The 31-year-old Garoppolo spent the last six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers leading them to a 7-3 record while completing 67.2 per cent of his passes for 2,437 yards, 16 touchdowns and just four interceptions during the 2022 season. Garoppolo suffered a season-ending foot injury in December.
The Houston Texans and New York Jets were reportedly among the teams interested in the veteran quarterback.
